Iceland names two professors to committee

Crisis-hit Iceland on Tuesday appointed the members of its recently installed monetary policy committee, naming two university professors to the body charged with overseeing central bank policy.

Prime Minister Johanna Sigurdardottir told a news conference Anne Sibert, a professor of economics at Birkbeck College, at the University of London, and Gylfi Zoega, economics professor at the University of Iceland, would join the committee.
