Bankrupt Iceland

In the last five weeks 130 Icelandic companies have gone bankrupt according to CreditInfo. 

In a conversation with mbl.is, Omar Berg Torfason, an expert at CreditInfo predicts that 9-10 companies will go out of business every day this year.

    And then there are the home foreclosures — up 180% this year.
    So far this year there have already been foreclosures on 189 homes. That projects to a minimum of 1600 in the coming year. “We are in an economic Chernobyl”, says one lawyer.
    And the solution? Give up and flee the country, if this happens to you.
