David refuses to move

In the least surprising move in Icelandic politics, David Oddson says he won’t budge as Central Bank Governor, the position he put himself into.

So now he has written the definite chapter in his own history. As the mad ruler. Someone whose relationship with power has outstayed every good thing he could possibly have stood for.

Iceland will not heal until he has left the stage. So expect some ugly times ahead.

He might even become the first politician in the country to be removed with force, even violently.

And Iceland will become a much worse place for it. But he’ll have no one to blame but himself.

when you describe the actions of your prime minister, in an official statement no less, as “laughable”, you have seriously lost the plot! maybe a long stay at kleppur would do doddson some good, because this is work for a head shrinker…..
